About the Artist
Craig Schoenbaum is the February grant recipient, featuring his photography exhibition titled Culver City California Connections. Third-generation Culver City resident Craig has made an artistic study of the National, State, and local parks in California, as well as the connections to Sister Cities around the world. Craig’s photography has been ingrained with creativity and a presentation of California in all of its beauty and grandeur. Ever since his first photography class at Loyola Marymount University more than 35 years ago, he has loved creating artistic photographic images. His photographic history began with his grandfather who was a still photographer for the movie studios in the Culver City and Hollywood areas from the 1930s to 1950s. He now continues his legacy using digital cameras beginning in 2002 during a workshop in Yosemite National Park. The magnificence of our National Parks have become a favorite subject matter with Joshua Tree exemplifying the beauty and wonder of desert life in California.
