Capoeira Musicality & Movement Workshop with Mestre Negaotivo

Mestre Negoativo, from Minas Gerais, Brazil, is a cultural activist and an advocate of Afro-Brazilian traditions of Bantu and Vissungo origins. He is a talented musician, who has shared the stage with artists like Gilberto Gil and Milton Nascimento. He is also a respected craftsman in the art of making berimbaus.

Today his main focus is his research about the Berimbau de Barriga, its historical processes and the transformations of musicality of African origin during the 21st century.

Come join us for a workshop filled with stories, music, movement and axé. There will be a few berimbaus for sale.
