Jonathan Stout

Jonathan Stout is a guitarist and bandleader, well-known to swing dancers everywhere for the wonderful dance orchestras he leads, but any fan of swing guitar currently stalking the internet knows him for his mastery of the electric swing guitar style of Charlie Christian, and the acoustic chord-melody style of Allan Reuss. Recently featured on the “Fretboard Journal Podcast”, Jonathan brings his new trio (with Nate Katner on clarinet and sax, and Riley Baker on bass) to Boulevard Music for their Los Angeles concert debut. The guitar-centric trio features both sides of Jonathan’s playing, acoustic and electric.

Besides leading his own bands as headliners at Swing Dance events around the world, Jonathan has also played with the Bonebreak Syncopators (led by DJ Bonebrake of the band X), Michael Gamble and his Rhythm Serenaders, The Mint Julep Jazz Band, Josh Collazo’s Candy Jacket Jazz Band, Keenan McKenzie and the Riffers, Janet Klein, Carl Sonny Leyland, Enrique Pierdo (Spain), Dean Mora (Mora’s Modern Rhythmists, et. al), the Lucky Stars, and Natelie Hanna Mendoza and her Tiger Four.
