Murder & Magic: A Vandy-in-Hollywood Book Party
August 18, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Vanderbilt University has a long literary tradition — James Patterson, Robert Penn Warren, Roseanne Cash — and tonight, we’re celebrating two more amazing authors and their new books: A Most Agreeable Murder, by Julia Seales, and Kelcie Murphy & the Hunt For the Heart of Danu, by Erika Lewis. We’ll have book signings, maybe some readings, and lots of black and gold. Anchor down, Dores!
About the authors
Erika Lewis grew up in Alexandria, Virginia. She graduated from Vanderbilt University, then moved to Los Angeles, California bringing her passion for storytelling set in magical places with her. She spends as much time as she can traveling. When she’s not writing, she can generally be found scribbling notes in a blank book while wandering through ruins, museums, and graveyards. Lewis’s list of credits straddles the comics and novel space, including the Kelcie Murphy Series from Starscape/Tor Teen, The Color of Dragons from HarperTeen, Game of Shadows from Tor Books, Firebrand from Legendary Comics, #Guardian from Awesome Media & Entertainment, and The 49th Key from Heavy Metal Publishing.
Julia Seales is a writer and screenwriter based in Los Angeles. She earned an MFA in screenwriting from UCLA, and a BA in English from Vanderbilt University. She is a lifelong Anglophile with a passion for both murder mysteries and Jane Austen. Julia is originally from Kentucky, where she learned about manners (and bourbon).
Books are available for purchase through Village Well.
