The Soapbox

The Soapbox plays standard, non-standard, and original compositions. Members have included flutist Ellen Burr, saxophonist/clarinetists Charles Sharp and Sean Sonderegger, trumpeter Dave Williams, guitarists Angelo Metz and Robert Jacobson, keyboardist R. Scott Dibble, drummers Pater Valsamis and Paul Pellegrin, and vibraphonist Milton Salazar, as well as leader/bassist Jeff Schwartz.
Originally formed to play at political fundraisers (hence the name), the Soapbox appears at the Industry Cafe & Jazz on the third Friday night of each month. This band can support a jam session, accompany singers, add atmosphere to a party, or command attention with bold playing and original material, whatever the situation requires.
There is no cover charge for the Industry Cafe shows. Food and drink are available and tips are welcome.
